we lost power at about 3 or 3:30 am on sunday the 16th of february, 2003, when the neighborhood lost a critical power line. the light show was nice, the sky lit every few minutes with a bizarre green cast as suddenly-loadless transformers across the city burst into flames. i snapped the first of these pictures sunday around noon as a went on a trek around chevy chase and uk to find a store with electricity. the rest are from monday morning, after we got an inch of snow.
