thermostat on monday morning. we have a forced-air gas furnace; with no electricity, the furnace won't turn on. the top is where you set the temperature you want (here 72F) and the bottom is the current temperature (pegged low at 50F).
when we woke up this morning, i could see my breath, and the cats actually crawled under the covers with us to keep warm. in the living room i could see the cats' breath.
my sister called my from gulf breeze, florida, to console me on the storm, and say, "brrr! it's so cold here! it's a bone-chilling 75 degrees!"
