my dad is a dentist. he keeps trying to fix me up with girls from my hometown. this is usually a dinnertime conversation, which goes thusly:

dad:	now, son, i think i found you a girlfriend the other day...
mom:	*shaking head*
muppet:	*heavy sigh* really...
dad:	yeah, she's real cute, goin' to school over at marshall, studyin' law... [somebody whatshisface]'s daughter, she went to high school with you.
muppet:	*no clue who it is* yeah, that's great...
dad:	yeah, she came into the office the other day and i was tellin' her all about you, and she seemed pretty excited about you, too!
muppet:	dad, that's because anyone will say anything to appease the guy with the sharp implements of destruction in her mouth!
dad:	*laughing, obviously thinking i'd made a joke*
mom:	*still shaking her head, trying not to laugh out loud*

like i've always said, it certainly is hard bringing up good parents these days...

that, and people at school would be really nice to me as soon as they got braces, because they didn't want to piss me off and then get my dad mad at them....
